Sunny Jacobs is an activist who was put in prison for a crime she didn’t commit.
In 1976, at age 28 years old, she and her husband were sentenced to death for the murder of two policemen. The couple fought to prove their innocence, but they were sentenced to death.
Sunny and her husband spent five years of their lives in solitary confinement, leading to the day of their execution. At this point Sunny was angry and confused asking herself how can God allow this to happen until one day when she read the Bible. Whilst reading the Bible she received a revelation that o one had the power to decide when she died so she became hopeful. Sunny decided to use her time to build up herself spiritual by prayer and meditation.
Although it was later found that she was innocent, during her time in prison she had many losses from the loss of her husband who was executed by the electric chair, her parents who were killed in a plane crash and her children were sent into foster care.
Her story is an inspiration that your circumstances should not determine your joy.
Now Sunny is an activist using her voice to help those who have been convicted of a crime they didn’t commit.
