Many people fall short of reaching their full potential due to neglecting to search within themselves to discover their ambitions.
It’s usually when one refuses to create their routines, schedules and plans for themselves when others will plan for them on their behalf, which is an unproductive way to live. Personal development coach, the late, Jim Rohn said, “If you don’t design your life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.
When I met up with Max Lyons, the pastor from Hillsong Church London, in an interview, he shared why it’s important to never live out someone else’s dream. He shared the story of a young man he knew who was volunteering as an intern at the church. Once he completed his internship, the main pastor at the church congratulated him with excitement on his great work, and offered him a job as a full-time minister at the church. He responded to the pastor with appreciation, but said, “That’s cool, but I don’t think that’s where God has called me.” He declined the pastoral job offer due to his conviction that God had sent him to work in the insurance sector. So he went to work for a reputable insurance agency, and soon became the fastest-promoted insurance representative in the history of Willis Insurance Company, while at the same time doing amazing things for the Kingdom of God.
