Life is like a race, you cannot stop on the track to watch things around you, and even before you can compete, you have to be in a ready-shape. That is why discipline comes into play (Corinthians 9; 24).
Mastering a successful life is dependent on your ability to apply discipline in key areas;
1. Your mind
For as he thinks within himself so he is. Proverbs 23:7
2. Your time
Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread. Proverbs 20:13
3. Money
Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? Luke 14:28
4. Words
A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. Proverbs 25:28.
Be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.- James 1:19
5. Your friendship
Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character. 1 Corinthians 15:33
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers. Psalm 1:1
6. Appetite
Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags. Proverbs 23:20-21
